You’ll only need TWO things to pull off Shaving Cream Easter Eggs! Plus, the kiddos will have FUN making this simple (science-like) project.

This post is all about how to make Shaving Cream Easter Eggs.
If you have shaving cream and food coloring dye at home, you’re one step closer to making these beautiful Shaving Cream Easter Eggs. They look gorgeous, like a Unicorn Rainbow, and I can guarantee the kids will have FUN making this EASY project.
If they want to add their name or make some shapes or swirls on the eggs, they can do that easily beforehand with a white crayon. Optional decorating stickers can be put on the eggs after they have been washed and dried for an extra glamorous effect.
This is a great way to make some fun Spring MEMORIES with the kiddos! I used four traditional food coloring dyes (red, green, yellow, and blue), but more vibrant and different colors can be purchased on Amazon.
Shaving Cream Easter Eggs (So Easy!)

Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Food Coloring Dye (I used red, green, blue, and yellow, but you can purchase more vibrant colors on Amazon.)
- Boiled Eggs
Equipment Needed:
- Straw or Butter Knife (for swirling the dye around)
- Water (for rinsing the eggs)
How To Make Shaving Cream Easter Eggs, Step-By-Step

Step 1: Boil as many eggs as you need and allow them to cool completely.
Step 2: Add shaving cream to a 9 x 13 baking pan or dish. You’ll want a thick layer.

Step 3: Begin adding drops of food coloring. I added green, yellow, blue, and red dye. I tried to cover the top of the white shaving cream almost entirely with each color.

Step 4: Grab a straw or butter knife to swirl and mix the colors back and forth.

Step 5: Add the (cooled) boiled eggs into the colored shaving cream and let one side set for five minutes. You should be able to add at least a dozen eggs at once.

Step 6: Using a spoon, gently turn over the eggs to color the other side. Let that side set for five minutes.
Step 7: Remove the eggs from the colored foam with a spoon and set them onto foil.

Step 8: Rinse the eggs under cool water and dry them gently.
*BONUS TIP: Add decorative Easter stickers to the shaving cream-colored eggs for an extra glamorous effect! Plus, kids LOVE stickers.

FAQs
Is It Safe To Eat Easter Eggs With Shaving Cream?
Even though egg shells are porous, the eggs are not in the shaving cream very long. Be sure to rinse using cool water. You can substitute the shaving cream with Cool Whip to be extra safe.
Are DIY Marbled Easter Eggs Easier Than Buying A Kit?
I think so! You’ll only need to dirty a 9 x 13 baking pan instead of using multiple cups that are required for a store-bought Easter egg dying kit. The marbled color forms on the eggs in under 10 minutes, too!
Shaving Cream Easter Eggs
Shaving Cream Easter Eggs are simple, and you'll only need two components: shaving cream and food coloring dye. Kids enjoy this mini-science experiment and have a blast watching the magic unfold. I used four different food coloring dyes (red, blue, yellow, and green), which resulted in a beautiful marbled coloring that included pink, blue, and yellow hues. Happy Spring!
